Self-Employed Computer Consultant:
- Built customized workstations for clients. Worked with each client to suggest the best options
for their needs and preferences, and then built, configured, and installed the systems.
- Performed one-on-one training sessions in the basics of computer use.
Software Developer (1998 - 2001):
- Implementation of video and audio processing algorithms in C++, for award-winning
dpsVelocity
digital video editing software.
- Design and implementation of GUI features for dpsVelocity, including a Trim Table designed
to ease detail-level work on individual video elements and multi-element transitions.
- Wrote hardware-interface C++ code to allow dpsVelocity and DPS Batch Capture to remotely
control specialized hardware, including video cameras and recording decks, over IEEE 1394 and
RS-422 interfaces.
- Oversaw localization project for dpsVelocity, restructuring the code in preparation for
production of Unicode foreign-language versions.
- Implemented version authentication and software copy protection system in C++.
- Wrote training materials for incoming programmers and testers.
- Administrator of SourceSafe source code management system.
Software Tester (1996 - 1998):
- Use of logical and creative testing methods to seek out, narrow down, and positively
identify software bugs.
